FAQ
🚪 What happens before boarding?
Meeting point is above. Check-in is done directly next to the boat. Border officers come to you : no terminal, no waiting room. Documents are checked and passports stamped if needed. It’s fast, smooth, and all done outdoors. All required information is shared with the authorities before departure for a seamless process.
📄 What documents do I need?
The following documents are only required for crossings between Boulogne and Dover. No formalities are needed for catamaran tours departing from either Boulogne or Dover.
A valid passport is mandatory for all crossings. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your trip.
Travelling to the UK? From 2nd April 2025, most visitors will need to apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) in advance even if you don't need a visa. Be sure to complete this before you travel.
Travelling to France? You can find official information on the Service Public website.
Always check the latest entry requirements based on your nationality.
🎒 What should I bring on board?
Sailing is an outdoor adventure : pack accordingly ! Dress for the elements with layers, a waterproof jacket, closed shoes, sun protection (hat & sunscreen), and bring a refillable water bottle.
Light snacks and hot drinks are provided onboard, but feel free to bring your favourite nibbles.
Safety first: our crew includes a certified skipper and first mate trained in First Aid and Sea Survival. The vessel is fully equipped with professional safety equipment and modern communication tools.
Keep it light, keep it simple and enjoy the journey!
🚲 Can I bring luggage or a bike?
Bring whatever you can carry, including yourself ! Bikes come on board as they are, on deck or in the cockpit. Just remember to add your bike when booking : it’s £15 per bike.
🐶 What about pets?
We’re currently working with UK authorities to become certified for pet travel. We’ll keep you updated on our social media. For now, pets can’t travel with us.
♿ Is the boat accessible?
There are steps on board. If you have limited mobility, feel free to contact us ahead of time so we can assess feasibility together and make sure it’s safe and comfortable for you.
🌦️ What if the weather changes?
Safety is our compass. We monitor conditions closely, but the sea is unpredictable; that’s part of the Sailink adventure! ⛵
If weather or other unforeseen events force a delay, cancellation, or change in the crossing, we will always inform you as early as possible. Sometimes this may only be 1 or 2 days in advance.
You can choose to reschedule your crossing, receive a full refund, or switch to another available sailing. We are not responsible for the weather, and we will always prioritize your life over any potential financial loss due to a cancellation.
This is why we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance or cancellation coverage for your accommodation and other reservations.
All details are clearly explained in our Terms & Conditions.
💳 What about payment and cancellations?
All bookings are made securely online. You can cancel free of charge up to 14 days before departure.
● From 14 to 7 days before, you'll get a 50% refund.
● Less than 7 days before, refunds are only possible if someone takes your place.
● Within 24 hours: no refund is possible.
If your travel documents are refused by border authorities, the same policy applies.
If we ever have to cancel due to weather, technical issues or other rare events, you’ll receive either a full refund or a rescheduled date, whichever suits you best.
