SailLink boards at Dover Marina. Every address in this guide is chosen for its proximity to the berth and its welcome of cyclists and adventurers. Sleep the night before your crossing, or arrive from Boulogne and settle into Kent. The White Cliffs are right there.
One pick. One Friend. One reliable backup.
"Boulogne has a Cockpit Club. Dover has, for now, an honest list of addresses and one Friend who had our back."
The Cockpit Club is SailLink's formal partner programme. We have not signed a Cockpit Club partner in Dover yet and we would rather wait for the right fit than rush a deal that doesn't match what we do. That conversation is open.
What we do have is an honest address book, sorted by relationship, not by star rating. SailLink's Pick is the address closest to the berth and easiest to recommend. A Friend of SailLink is someone who has personally backed the project. A Reliable Backup is exactly what it says, a no-surprises option when you just need a clean room and a quick check-in.
All three welcome cyclists, panniers, and the occasional damp dry bag. Tell them you arrived by sail.
Friend of SailLink
A welcoming guest house with a host who looks out for SailLink passengers.
Run by Alex, one of SailLink's UK supporters. Comfortable rooms, proper breakfasts, and a host who genuinely looks after cyclists and adventurers passing through Dover. Steps from the marina. Tell him you're arriving by sail.
Alex backed the project. An early UK supporter who understood what SailLink was trying to build before it was easy to explain. Personal welcome, proper breakfast, the kind of place where the host remembers your name on the second visit.
Reliable Backup
When you just need a clean bed and a quick check-in.
The reliable option in the St James development, with a cinema and several restaurants on the doorstep. Modern comfort at a predictable price. Ideal if you are arriving late or leaving early, with everything you need for one night before the crossing.
No surprises, ever. Sometimes that's exactly what a one-night-before-the-crossing stay needs. Not a partner, not a Friend — just an honest practical recommendation we trust enough to share.
"After a windy crossing we walked off the boat, dropped our bags at the hotel two minutes from the pontoon, and were on the beach watching the ferries within ten minutes. Dover felt like an old friend, even on day one."
Tom & Sarah K., 2025 PassengersDover Marina is where SailLink berths on the UK side. Your bike rolls on at the marina. No car deck, no terminal queue, no coach transfer. Check in the night before, walk the White Cliffs in the afternoon, and board the next morning. That is the SailLink rhythm, and all three addresses on this page are within fifteen minutes on foot.
Book the Crossing →Three things worth knowing before you book.
SailLink berths inside Dover Marina. Dover Marina Hotel is 2 minutes on foot, Churchill Guest House 10 minutes, Travelodge 15 minutes towards the town centre. No car deck, no terminal queue. You walk off the pontoon and into your room.
All three addresses are used to SailLink passengers and welcome bikes and panniers. Mention your SailLink crossing at booking for advice on secure storage, drying space for damp kit, and breakfast timing if you have an early ferry the next morning.
Dover gets busy in summer and over school holidays. Book ahead for July, August, and any night before a Saturday crossing. Churchill Guest House has limited rooms and tends to fill fastest. Dover Marina Hotel handles larger groups well.
